Previously titled: What the level 2 course is about
Hello and welcome back to the Yoga for BJ level 2 course to become a level 2 certified Yoga for BJ instructor. I want to take this video to explain the difference between level 1 and 2 and the curriculum you have ahead of you after you have signed up. The difference between level 1 and level 2 is that in level 1 it was basically like learning the alphabet and words. Like these are the foundational stones and this is how we put it together and everything was pre-planned.
This is exactly what you should be training on. Do it X amount of times. Do this, don't do that. Very black and white.
Like yes or no to every question. Just to get started, to make that initial threshold and the fear of failing smaller so that you could think okay this is what I'm gonna do, only this I think I can manage that. In level 2 there is more nuance. It's not black and white.
The grey zone is highlighted in the level 2. Well if you are this type of person you can do this. If you are more like that you can do that. It depends.
So I hate when people say it depends to basic questions. Should I pass the guard with my arm here or here? It depends. I hate when people say that.
So we never say it depends in the beginning. We say it later when you have a grasp of the foundational so that you have something to apply the it depends to. So we will say it depends a lot in level 2 because you guys are ready for it. Two objects of the level 2.
The first and most important object of the level 2. No never the most important. One of the 50% of the important thing in level 2 is that you have something more to give your students. The students have done the full class and your variations and the standard the warm up many times.
So you want to give them a sense that they have this is not everything that they have done the last six months with you. It's not everything there is to yoga. You want to give them something more. And the other part of the level 2 the other mission of the level 2 training is for you to have opportunity to develop your own practice because you cannot just do the yoga for BJ full class and warm up forever and expect to improve forever.
You will reach a plateau and when that plateau has been reached level 2 is there to you know give you that kick up again to progress forward. The curriculum has a new warm up and the four classes full classes and one in class. So all in all six classes and I want you to develop not just like you did in level 1 like understanding the poses are called this and we do it in this sequence for this amount of time. Now I want you to develop a gut sensation.
You do the hip class in the curriculum 10 times or 15 times or 20 times. When you do that you will develop us just like intuition that I hit class should feel like this. I cannot put any words on it but this is the sensation the vibration I have after this class. This is the type of frame of existence I get into when I do a hip yoga for BJ class.
I want you to develop that on your own because nobody can explain that to you. You can only develop it from your own experience and that's what I want you to do with the level 2. I want you to do everything in the level 2 minimum 10 times but I would love it if you could do it 30 times or 40 times or 50 times each class. Monday to Friday from when you start now you do Monday to Friday you do one of the classes every goddamn day.
That would be absolutely amazing. For many of us life doesn't allow for that but try try your absolute best to do the classes as many times as possible but 10 times per class is absolute minimum. Of course do the curriculum and go through the anatomy stuff that we have edited and put into the curriculum. We put up the speed a little bit so that it's not too tedious but understanding those basics is also very important.
Go through the curriculum but 90% of the curriculum is self-practice. Doing your homework by practicing. There are less than one book to read so the text is just 5-10% the majority of the time should be spent just doing the videos. That's enough for the introduction so I wish you the best of luck.
I will do a couple of more videos on what we're doing when we meet up and about your homework. Ok see you soon.
