We have come to the easiest part of our journey together and that is the cooldown. And the cooldown assumes that people have been doing a jitsu class so they have basically no energy left, they are completely spent. They are in, their brain is full of endorphins and they're just super happy. But that will only last for a few minutes and then they will start feeling the pain again.
So by teaching them the Yoga for BG, the cooldown sequence, we can prolong that space of happiness and we can also flip around their aches and pains and make them feel really good and restore and rejuvenate and sleep better. So with the cooldown, all you want to practice is of course the positions, the yoga poses. And you want to practice how to make a relaxing environment for the cooldown because that will be really important for the people participating and want them to come back is that they feel like, this is like a spa. Yes, you're taking charge of people but very different from the full class.
The full class, you're the steward of a journey. Now you're more of kind of the mother that people return to and you make sure that they feel good and that's a completely different challenge. But it is also really simple because if you don't over teach and if you are not whispering, if you're just talking in a normal voice, people are just going to love whatever you say. If you say, stretch your hamstring and take a deep breath and just enjoy laying on the mat, people are going to wow, this was good.
And if you add in a little good music there too, people are going to crave more of it. And since you probably are teaching in a space that is not a yoga studio, so you don't have the lavender oils and the dimmed lights and all of that, it's nice to have people close their eyes. So if it's really bright or if there's padding, boxing in the room next door, they can close their eyes and go to their inner world. That will of course be a bigger challenge but instead of being pissed off at the Thai people punching bags over there, it's part of the ambience.
That's one of the reasons people are at the Jiu Jitsu Academy. So don't see it as a big challenge. It's part of the charm. Doing yoga in a pool of sweat when people are killing each other in the other room is what Yoga for BJ is about.
And you can really round off the Jiu Jitsu sparring in a way that people will love. And also I wrote, if you don't read the text, I wrote that this class should also be so inclusive that mom and pops and the siblings and your friends watching, they can join too. We're doing a 15 minute cooldown or a 20 minute cooldown, everybody can join, just come in. Because we want to create an atmosphere in the gym that people get addicted to and they feel welcome.
So even though we're assuming that people are sweaty from sparring, just let everybody join this class. You should not have to have any prerequisites to do this class. Everybody will enjoy it.
